Top lots of the sale:

- Roman, the Levant, late Imperial Period, ca. 3rd to 5th century CE. An elegant mosaic presenting a meandering tendril of heart-shaped ivy leaves. The design is comprised of square and triangular stone tesserae in hues of sunny yellow, russet red, and dove grey against a creamy white ground with a linear grey groundline to help focus the eye on the composition. Size: mosaic measures 72.375" W x 19" H (183.8 cm x 48.3 cm); 76.375" W x 22.25" H (194 cm x 56.5 cm) including matrix and metal frame. Estimate: $18,000 - $30,000

- Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A handsome, realistic marble head of a youth with a close-cropped wavy/curled coiffure framing a handsome face with attractive features such as generously lidded, almond-shaped, eyes, arched brows leading to his nose, closed full lips, a defined chin, and well-modeled naturalistic facial planes. The classicizing features and treatment of the eyes suggest that the head is from the Julio-Claudian Period. The verso is not carved in the round, suggesting that this piece is a high-relief. A wonderful piece of sculpture from ancient Rome! Size: 7.25" W x 10.625" H (18.4 cm x 27 cm); 14.75" H (37.5 cm) on included custom stand. Estimate: $10,000 - $15,000

- Central Asia, northern India/Pakistan, Indo-Persian culture, ca. 18th century; India, ca. first half of the 19th century CE. A curved 19th century Indian iron-manganese jambiya dagger hangs from the belt and has a wooden sheath and high-grade (88%) silver plates for the handle, pommel, and sheath adornments. Custom display torso included. Size (shirt): 11.5" W x 23" H (29.2 cm x 58.4 cm); (helmet) 7.5" W x 11" H (19 cm x 27.9 cm); (dagger): 6.5" W x 12.625" H (16.5 cm x 32.1 cm); (stand w/ helmet): 33" H (83.8 cm). Estimate: $8,000 - $12,000

- Magna Graecia, Apulian, ca. 340 to 310 BCE. A sizeable bell krater, decorated via the red figure technique. Size: 9" W handlespan x 9.125" H (22.9 cm x 23.2 cm). Estimate: $4,500 - $6,500

- Near East / Holy Land, Byzantine Empire, ca. 6th to 9th century CE. A beautiful, fascinating object from a wealthy Byzantine church or home - a round, spoke-like component of a candelabrum. A symmetrical, segmented, openwork motif gives the piece a clock-like appearance, as do the cogged edges, at least to the modern eye - but in antiquity, this bronze disc would have been held by its three openwork bronze chains, which are still present here, and suspended from a stand by the heavy hook. On this example, the three chains are brought together at a tall, flat cross. Openings in its arms suggest further attachments. Candles or lamps would have been set into the round areas of the surface. Size when fully extended: 13.3" W x 34" H (33.8 cm x 86.4 cm). Estimate: $4,000 - $6,000

- Huge Roman Pottery Transport Amphora - Intact! Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. Estimate: $4,000 - $6,000

- Roman, Imperial period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A large cast bronze chariot mount with decorative swan heads and necks forming its arms around a wide, tapering column capped by a relief human face. Size: 7.55" W x 5.4" H (19.2 cm x 13.7 cm). Estimate: $4,000 - $6,000.”
