My Word - Fall 2022
The 2022 Virtual Objects of Art Show was ultimately very successful. The first few days were hampered by technical gliches that once overcome, permitted internet users access to the exhibition. There is no doubt given both Sothebys’ and Christies’ major 2020 expendtures on their online presence, that COVID has fundamentally changed the marketplace. The art world is evolving and the data proves that given modest assurances, buyers will buy sitting in front of their computer screens. We are adjusting and expanding to meet these challenging demands. Our social media efforts now consist of posting on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter four different programs - Our world Just Because Its Great - nature photos; Art Just Because Its Great - great works of art; Thoughts - quotes from interesting people; and Did You Know - facts about art appraisals and authentication. And we have the website arttrak.com and the free ArtTrak newsletter that goes out 5 times a year. And we are expanding the website artTrak.com.
We have been very busy with both authentications and art appraisals in our primary areas of African, Pre-Columbian, Oceanic, and Native American Art. As dealers we are working with a number of major collections into the coming year. With our age group in the zone for deaccessioning we expect this trend to continue into 2023.
We may be adding another intern the beginning of the year while Francesca pops in and out of Dallas enroute to great things in the future
