My Word - Summer 2022

We are looking forward to our second Objects of Art Santa Fe Virtual Exhibition which opens Thursday, August 11th. The online offering will remain open until August 31st. Shango is offering a group of objects that represent all of our specialty interests of African, Pre-Columbian, Oceanic, Native American, and Folk Art. The markets are changing and we have addressed this by including a number of pieces under $1,000. We thank our intern, Francesca Norman, for her work on the exhibition and newsletter.

I am always reluctant to say this world can’t get any nuttier than it is now; it can. The damage at the Dallas Museum of Art and the stabbings at the Museum of Modern Art clearly indicate that for-profit and non-profits alike must deal with these changes. As our politicians on both sides inflame passions further dividing us with anger that makes simple discussions impossible, the future looks bleak without the adults in the room taking charge. Whether you are attempting to communicate with your kid or an adult with a different point of view, there must be respect or we are all doomed to a bleak future.
