My Word - Christmas 2024

As this year ends, there seems to be at least some optimism for things to settle down, both here and abroad. To be sure, there have been challenges; however, we all have something to be grateful for. I know when I see current video of North Carolina residents still devasted by the ravages of the hurricane that occurred two months ago, I don’t have any hesitation finding gratitude in my life.

This introspection has caused me to further consider how lucky I have been over the past twelve years to have met and worked with so many great college interns. We have profiled Valerie Thompson, Ana Norman, and Emily Duffy in this issue, with the promise of some long interviews in issues to follow. I think you will enjoy them. Watch for our profile of Valerie Thompson in our Winter 2025 issue.

We launched the Japanese Noh Theater Mask Exhibition, and it has been well received. The gallery exhibition is open until December 20th for questions and sales inquiries.

Our ArtTrak YouTube Channel will launch first quarter 2025. We have put a great amount of time and effort in building it, and the process has made us more mindful of the complexities of the many unresolved issues involving the Native American community in the United States. You may find the two articles on that issue included in this Christmas issue very interesting.

Beyond that, our ArtTrak team ……….that now includes Barbara, Susan, Beth, Janet, Camila, Cammy, Mary Faith, Izzy, and myself………… wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and very Happy and Successful New Year!
