My Word Summer 2025
Fall is here, and with it, we're launching an updated ArtTrak website that marks a significant evolution for us.
While we'll still offer our core services—including the gallery, auction cataloging, our blog, and occasional online exhibitions and auctions—we're shifting our focus. We're moving more into **content development, appraisals, authentications, testing, and research**. It's been a slow but steady process, and we're just about ready to launch our YouTube channel and begin some exciting international projects.
This new direction also means we've had to become more selective with our intern program, and we may not always have an intern on staff. We're delighted to have more involvement from Susan Hall in all things ArtTrak. My wife, Barbara, has also become a major point of contact for our appraisal business, helping us keep up with the increasing demand in this area.
Over the last 50 years, the market has changed, and ArtTrak has become a bit of a unicorn. My mentors, John Lunsford and Ray Wielgus, were generalists who inspired me to follow this path. It served me well for 25 years as an active appraiser and for another five as a consultant for *Antiques Roadshow*. When it comes to appraisal and authentication expertise in **African, Pre-Columbian, Oceanic, and American Indian art**, it seems I'm one of the last generalists standing—a good thing after 50 years in business and with the passion to keep going.
We're incredibly excited about this new chapter and look forward to sharing our new projects with you. What kind of content would you be most excited to see from us on YouTube?
