EKLEKTOS COLLECTION
"Eklektos" translates to "picked out" or "chosen," suggesting a selection based on certain desirable qualities. This aligns with its use in various biblical passages where it denotes something that is particularly valuable or excellent, such as "choice" or "precious" items.
Over the past now almost fifty years, we have been constantly intrigued by interesting objects outside the traditional worlds of African, Pre-Columbian, Oceanic, and Native American Art. Eklektos seemed to be a reasonable gathering point for our curiosities. So you will find what you will find. It may be Noh theater masks from Japan, folk art from self-taught artists from the Southeastern part of the U.S. , tribal jewelry from around the world, amazing beadwork and yarn paintings from the Huichol of the State of Guerrero, Mexico, or even a 19th brass decorated chest once used on a dhow in the Persian Gulf. The excited part is that we have no idea what we will find next.
